Cat Collars, Leads & Harnesses
LUXURY CAT COLLARS & CAT WALKING ACCESSORIES FAQ'S
At Lords & Labradors, we have everything you’ll need for every area of your cat’s life. Whether you want to keep your cat warm and cosy inside or ensure they're safe outdoors on their next adventure.
Should cats wear collars?
Yes, they should! Keeping our pets safe, both indoors and outdoors, is our number one priority as pet parents.
As well as looking cool, collars help your furry friend return home if they wander a little too far. A cat collar is a brilliant accessory that can carry an ID tag too.
What types of cat collars do you stock?
Here at Lords & Labradors, we've curated a stylish range of cat and kitten collars, leads, and harnesses so that you can keep your kitty out of harm's way.
For cats that like to get up to mischief, we have a range of cat collars with bells to alert any birds or mice to your cat’s presence. Or if you're bringing home a little kitten, we have a range of kitten collars and harnesses suitable for the tiniest of scruffs. All our UK-made cat collars come with quick-release safety buckles, so if your cat gets caught on a branch, they can easily pull themselves free.
If you live in a suburban area, we stock a range of reflective cat collars that'll ensure your furry friend can be seen when out exploring at night. Or, if you've noticed your fabulous feline is scratching a little too much, we have a range of subtle cat flea collars to put your mind at ease.
Do I need a collar if I have a house cat?
Although it's not strictly necessary, a cat collar or harness is a gorgeous accessory that'll make your feline feel fabulous.
If you have a house cat, why not decorate their collar with a charm? We stock a gorgeous range of pet collar charms by Urban Pup. Each silver-toned charm is decorated with Swarovski crystals for the ultimate je ne sais quois. Your pampered felines will look oh-so-regal with one of these hanging from their collar. There are some beautiful designs including crown shapes, a handbag, and a ‘spoiled’ embossed heart.
How tight should a cat collar be?
Cat collars need to be fitted quite firmly to ensure the collar doesn't get snagged on branches or other objects. At Lords & Labradors, we advise you to fit the collar so you can only get one or two fingers between the collar and the scruff of your cat's neck.
Any looser and you might find the more mischievous kitty breaks free!
To be sure you have the right fit, check the collar after your fabulous feline has been wearing it for a few minutes. Then you're good to go!
Should I invest in a cat harness?
If your cat likes to explore, then yes!
We have plenty of cat harnesses and lead sets to choose from in our hand-picked range.
If you’d like to take your cat outside in a controlled manner for a walk around the garden, then training them to walk on a cat lead is an ideal option. Our harnesses are soft and allow for freedom of movement so that your cat can still run and climb to their heart's content.
Our cat and kitten harnesses are brilliant for pedigree cats who may not otherwise be safe to roam free. They’re also useful if you’ve moved to a new house and your cat isn’t ready to be set free yet. A gorgeous cat lead is an ideal way to allow them outside in the early days so they can get fresh air and exercise.
